Accenture is one of the largest technology and consulting companies globally and conducts large-scale campus hiring drives across India every year. Their recruitment process has been updated in recent years to include a stronger emphasis on coding and technical ability.
Accenture Recruitment Stages
Accenture campus recruitment typically involves four stages: Online Assessment (Cognitive + Technical + Communication), Coding Assessment, Technical Interview, and HR Interview.
Online Assessment: Cognitive Ability
25 questions in 30 minutes covering Numerical Reasoning (data interpretation, percentages, averages), Abstract Reasoning (pattern identification in shapes and sequences), and Attention to Detail (error spotting in tables and text). This section is adaptive — difficulty increases with correct answers. Speed and accuracy both matter.
Online Assessment: Technical Ability
40 questions in 40 minutes. Topics: OOPS concepts, basic data structures (arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists), algorithm analysis (Big O notation), DBMS fundamentals (SQL, normalisation), networking basics, and operating system concepts. Multiple choice format — study breadth over depth for this section.
Online Assessment: Communication Assessment
Tests English language proficiency through fill in the blanks, sentence correction, reading comprehension, and essay writing. The essay component (150 to 200 words) is AI-evaluated. Focus on clarity, grammar, and coherence.
Coding Assessment
1 to 2 coding problems in 45 to 60 minutes. Topics: arrays, strings, mathematical problems, basic algorithms. Accenture’s coding section has become progressively harder in recent drives — practice Medium-level HackerRank problems. Languages supported: C, C++, Java, Python.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th, 12th, and undergraduate degree. No active backlogs. All engineering branches are eligible. B.E., B.Tech, MCA eligible. Maximum 2-year education gap.
Technical Interview
Accenture technical interviews cover OOPS with code (write a class hierarchy on paper), DBMS (SQL queries with joins), basic web technologies if relevant to the role (HTML, CSS, REST APIs), and an in-depth discussion of your final year project and any internships.
HR Interview
Accenture HR interviews specifically emphasise service mindset, client-facing communication, adaptability to different project environments, and willingness to learn new technologies rapidly. Prepare concrete examples demonstrating each of these qualities from your academic experience.
Preparation Priority
Based on the elimination pattern of Accenture drives, the Cognitive section (especially Abstract Reasoning) and the Coding Assessment are the two highest-priority areas. Many candidates with strong aptitude scores fail at coding. Allocate at least 40% of your preparation time to coding if you are targeting Accenture.
