Wipro is one of India’s top 5 campus recruiters and visits hundreds of engineering colleges annually through its NLTH and TurboHire-powered assessment process. Here is your complete preparation guide for Wipro placement drives in 2025.

Wipro Recruitment Process Overview

Wipro’s campus recruitment typically involves five stages: Essay Writing, Online Aptitude Test, Coding Round, Technical Interview, and HR Interview. Each stage is elimination-based — clearing one does not guarantee the next.

Round 1: Essay Writing — 20 Minutes

One essay topic, typically on technology, social issues, or current affairs. Assessed by an AI evaluation system on grammar accuracy, vocabulary level, sentence complexity, coherence, and structure. Write 200 to 250 words with a clear introduction, two substantive body paragraphs, and a concise conclusion. Use transition words (however, furthermore, consequently, in conclusion). Avoid contractions — write “do not” instead of “don’t.” Avoid colloquial language and spelling errors.

Round 2: Online Aptitude Test — 50 Minutes, 50 Questions

Quantitative Aptitude: Wipro’s quant section is noticeably harder than TCS. Focus specifically on Probability, Permutations and Combinations, and Geometry — areas that other placement tests cover less. Standard arithmetic topics (Percentages, Time and Work, Speed and Distance) are also included.

Logical Reasoning: Emphasises Syllogisms, Venn Diagrams, and Seating Arrangements. Unlike TCS, Wipro’s reasoning section includes more complex multi-constraint puzzles.

Verbal Ability: Reading comprehension passages of 250 to 300 words, fill in the blanks with vocabulary focus, and sentence correction. Moderate vocabulary difficulty level.

Round 3: Coding — 60 Minutes, 2 Problems

Problem 1 is typically solvable with basic loops, conditionals, and string or array manipulation. Problem 2 requires basic dynamic programming or recursion. Approach: read both problems first and start with the easier one to secure full marks, then attempt the harder problem. Languages supported: C, C++, Java, Python.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 60% aggregate in 10th, 12th, and undergraduate degree. No active backlogs at the time of the interview. Eligible degrees: B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (CS/IT). Maximum 1-year education gap with documentation. Graduation year within the last 2 years for off-campus drives.

Technical Interview Focus

Wipro’s technical interview specifically tests OOPS concepts with code examples (write a simple inheritance hierarchy on paper), DBMS with SQL queries (expect at least 2 queries involving joins, GROUP BY, and subqueries), and OS fundamentals (process vs thread, deadlock conditions, paging vs segmentation). Prepare to walk through your final year project in technical depth — architecture decisions, technologies chosen, challenges faced, and results achieved.

Essay Topic Preparation

Common Wipro essay themes: technology’s impact on education, social media and mental health, artificial intelligence in the workplace, remote work culture and productivity, climate change and the IT industry’s responsibility, and entrepreneurship vs employment. Prepare 5 outlines covering both sides of each topic — Wipro topics often ask for balanced perspectives rather than one-sided arguments.
