Infosys is consistently among the top three campus recruiters in India, hiring thousands of engineers annually. Understanding the exact process — track differences, section patterns, and interview expectations — gives you a decisive preparation advantage.
Infosys Recruitment Tracks in 2025
Systems Engineer (SE): Entry-level role open to all engineering branches. Focuses on aptitude, reasoning, and English communication. Strong onboarding program with structured L1 to L5 career progression.
Specialist Programmer (SP): Higher compensation, technical focus. Strong DSA and coding skills required. The interview is more rigorous and includes a dedicated coding assessment.
Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE): Niche roles in cloud computing, AI/ML, and digital transformation. Requires domain-specific skills and typically involves a portfolio or project discussion.
Online Assessment Pattern
Reasoning Ability — 15 questions, 25 minutes: The most time-pressured section proportionally. Focuses on mathematical and logical reasoning including data interpretation, arrangements, and puzzles. Practice speed specifically here.
Mathematical Ability — 10 questions, 35 minutes: Relatively generous time allocation. Covers arithmetic, algebra, mensuration, and basic data analysis. Accuracy over speed for this section.
Verbal Ability — 20 questions, 20 minutes: Reading comprehension, error correction, sentence completion, and vocabulary. One minute per question — manage time strictly.
Pseudo Code (SE Track) — 5 questions, 10 minutes: Trace the output of pseudo-code blocks. Requires basic programming logic understanding — variables, loops, conditionals, and functions.
Coding Round (SP Track) — 2 problems, 3 hours: Easy to medium difficulty. Topics include arrays, strings, sorting, searching, and basic dynamic programming. Java, Python, C, and C++ are supported.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in 10th, 12th, and undergraduate studies. No active backlogs at the time of joining. Maximum 2-year education gap. Eligible degrees: B.E., B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (CS/IT).
Technical Interview Preparation
For SE: prepare DBMS (normalisation to 3NF, SQL joins, subqueries, indexing), Operating Systems (process scheduling, deadlocks, virtual memory), OOPS (inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, encapsulation with code examples), Computer Networks (OSI model, TCP vs UDP, DNS, HTTP vs HTTPS), and your final year project in detail.
For SP: prepare DSA thoroughly (trees, graphs, dynamic programming, greedy algorithms), write code on paper or a whiteboard without IDE assistance, and understand time and space complexity for all common algorithms.
The InfyTQ Advantage
InfyTQ is Infosys’s free online learning and certification platform. Completing InfyTQ certifications before the placement drive provides an additional credential that is recognised during shortlisting. The platform’s practice tests also closely mirror the actual assessment pattern — making it the single most valuable free resource for Infosys preparation.
HR Interview Focus Areas
Infosys HR interviews specifically probe relocation readiness (strong positive expected), willingness to work in service-based project environments, adaptability to client requirements, and long-term commitment. Prepare concrete answers for all these areas.
